Basically there are two types of logistics
- INBOUND LOGISTICS
- OUTBOUND LOGISTICS
INBOUND LOGISTICS is the primary process of logistics focusing on buying and managing the movement of materials, assembling plants and shipping to the destined warehouse.
OUTBOUND LOGISTICS is the process of storage and movement of final goods. Thus, the information flows from the end of production to the end costumer.
Some other types of logistics is described below :
- PROCUREMENT LOGISTICS refers to such activities as market research, supply management and order controlling.
- ADVANCES LOGISTICS refers to activities needed to setup a plain for shipment to occur.
- DISTRIBUTION LOGISTICS mainly delivers the finished product to their customer. it is important because the time, place and quantity of production differs from customer to customer.
- DISPOSAL LOGISTICS functions to reduces logistics cost and increase their services related to waste produce during the operation of a business.
- REVERSE LOGISTICS operates issues related the reuse of products and materials it basically transfers goods from their final destination for capturing value or proper disposal.
- DIGITAL LOGISTICS is founded by the new generation of web-based, other type of business logistics application that enable collaboration and optimization.
Logistics is the process that interfaces and interacts with the entire company, vendors, customer and more. They are responsible for the movement of product from company to customers.
